So the night before last ISA (the program I am with) took us to a little restaurant where we watched Flamenco dancing!! It was very very cool! It is a weird dance that is very passionate and the people feel like they are pouring out their souls when they are dancing so they look very angry. Awesome experience! I can't remember if I have already talked to this but my walk to school and the ISA office is gorgeous!! I am obsessed! And some of you will be glad to know that I have already walked around by myself 3 times and only got slightly lost once! Orange trees line the streets in Granada which is so cool but apparently they don't taste very good.
I am dying without the internet, I know that makes me sound so pathetic but everyone is bugging me about keeping in touch but it is impossible without internet! The ISA office is about a ten minute walk which isn't too bad but lugging around my laptop is not fun! Hopefully I will be getting a USB port or something like that soon! Also, in the ISA office we are not supposed to speak in English so that poses another problem. It is the only place that Devin is quiet though because she doesn't know much Spanish ;).
I think I blew up yet another straightener! I straightened my hair and it worked fine and I just unplugged it every few minutes so it didn't get too hot but when I tried to use it again today nothing happened... ugh my hair does not like Spain.
Today for lunch we had a thick soup and me and Alaina were so excited because we thought that that (and bread and ham and cheese) would be all of our lunch but when we were done she brought out the main course!! Fish and potatoes! She is an amazing cook but I can't enjoy it because I am dreading stuffing myself with it! We watch trashy telenovelas at every meal or a jerry springer type show which is helpful because when she turns her back i try to smush my food down so it looks like I ate more than I did. I also put a tiny bit of salad on my plate when shes not looking and when she asks if I ate the salad I say I have already eaten some haha oh so sneaky!! My brain is starting to hurt always trying to translate what everyone is saying even on tv! I sometimes go into my room and listen to music just to listen to English and give my brain a rest!! It is so exhausting being surrounded in a different language!
The second day after we got here we took a placement test which was super hard but I needed to test into level 3 or 4 and I got into level 4 so yay! And Devin and Ashely were flipping out because they didn't know they had to test into level 2 but they did fine and Ashley even got level 3!
Hasta Luego mis amigos!
