No Siesta No Fiesta
I am kind of horrible at blogging. And I say this at the beginning of almost every blog but oh well I am trying and with the tiny amount of internet access I have, I think I am doing ok! Alright alot to catch up on! Two weekends ago six of us took a busride to a beach that was two hours away called Nerja. There are closer beaches but we had heard from everyone that this one was beautiful. So we woke up at the crack of dawn, took the bus and it really was beautiful! It was such a nice day which was much needed because of the weather in Granada lately. We got food at the Mercadona and ate on the beach, sat on this huge boulder thing with the waves crashing at our feet, talked, laughed, and got sunburnt (well at least I did). We also went to a cave that was ginormous and it was pretty cool and I fell down the stairs because they were wet and it was lovely. It was so out of character for me because I am usually so graceful ;). Falling has become a normal thing for me here, every new place we go I fall so I just embrace it now. Ashley, being so sympathetic, falls on the ground laughing every time. So after staying on the beach all day and exploring the cute little town we took the bus back at 9 at night. Loooong day! We were supposed to go skiing on the next Monday because we were out of school but it didn't end up happening so we are going to do that in two weekends I believe. Instead we went to a part of the Albaicin with a ton of gypsy shops and we all got really cool hand made leather purses and I also got a really cool headband and a bracelet.
So the next weekend after that we went on an excursion with the whole group to Sevilla and Cordoba. It was raining pretty much the whole weekend (surprise, surprise) but it was still very fun! We went to cathedrals, palaces, walking tours, etc. On the way home from Cordoba we stopped at an olive oil factory and they gave us straw hats which were hilarious and we all wore them and looked like third graders on a field trip. So it is now freezing cold in Granada! so weird!! I ditched the coat a long time ago but now I am wearing gloves. We are going to Barcelona tomorrow and it is supposed to be snowing?? Strange. But this will be my first experience in a hostel so that will be... fun! I will try to update after Barcelona. Sorry this post is not too exciting! Love everyone!
