La Vida Loca

I am aware that the title of this blog is also the title of a Ricky Martin song but i feel like it is applicable right now.  My life is crazy! This Saturday we went skiing in the Sierras and it was so much fun! We had two friends from Sevilla and one from Florence visiting and we basically laughed all day! We took a 30 minute busride to the slopes and on the way there we got put in a tiny bus with the SMELLIEST men I have ever smelt! They did not even know what deodorant was and I do not think they had bathed in a while! It was terrrrrrible! I had my scarf over my face the whole time and every time they would move the entire bus would gag.  Thankfully it wasn't a very long ride!  SOOO we got there and rented ski's and everything and got our passes and hit the slopes!!
It was awesome and I was so proud of myself because I didn't fall at all and then i was STANDING by the ski lift waiting for people and i just fell over for no reason haha that was the only time all day! So typical of me! After we ate lunch me, ashley, and molly decided that we were tired of waiting in the lift lines so we went all the way up to the top to do a blue run that went around the side of the mountain and it was really long.  Well by the time we got to the very top of the mountain it is snowing pretty hard but there was nothing we could do about it so we just started on the blue run which was very narrow, very steep, and by the edge of the mountain.  There were poles on each side to keep you inside the trail.  About ten minutes in to it we couldnt see the blue poles and we could barely see eachother because it was snowing so hard! Everything was white, EVERYTHING so we just stayed together and went down super slowly and it took us 2 and a half hours to get down! Very scary but we laughed about it later!  So we had some cola cau (hot chocolate) and took the bus back home (without stinky people).  We all went home and showered and headed over to one of our friends apartments because her host family was out of town and they said we could do whatever we wanted so we had a Mexican fiesta! Fajitas, home made guacamole, and salsa! Soooo good! We were all exhausted but it was so fun! I actually got really really dehydrated because I didn't drink any water all day (oops) and by the time i got home I thought my head was going to explode! But it was an awesome day and my muscles STILL hurt haha!

Midterms are this week but I am not really stressing about them! Probably because my classes are super easy! And probably because I am way more stressed about leaving for Italy on Thursday!  We are going for 11 days and I am bringing a backpack.... and not a big backpack just a small one! This is going to be interesting! Don't judge me for wearing the same 3 outfits in all of my pictures :)  We also only know where we are staying for 4 of the nights and we are just kind of winging the whole trip! ahhhhhh! oh well it is going to be awesome! And i guess that will be my next update so pray for me while I am there all next week! Hasta Luego!

  1. Jealous. Really really really jealous. I just want you to know that I seriously admire your bravery for studying abroad. Like I'm reading all of these posts and looking at all of your pictures, and I truly regret not going with you. But I just don't think I could have done it. I'm too scared of leaving the familiar here in the South. But your life sounds amazing right now, and I still haven't had long enough on the computer to update my blog, so this will have to do for now. I CAN'T WAIT UNTIL YOU COME HOME!!!! Look at my FB status. You'll appreciate it. Love youu!!!
